A Tangible Interface for project data contextualization.
BA graduation project.
The video is a two-minute edit of a longer 10+ minutes version, created for the INDEX:2005 exhibition in Copnhagen. The project is from 2004, my final year of my BA at ISIA in Rome.
The animation illutrates a concept for a new tool designed to help designers by creating a seamless link between digital 3D and 2D data stored into a database and the real context in which a future product will exist.
It uses fiducial markers to track position and perspective in realtime. The GUI is designed to be as unobtrusive as possible, yet maintaining a core level of functionality readily accessible in any moment by physically recessing three distinct areas on the touchscreen. The recesses help finding the three top-level functions through the use of tactile memory on the screen surface topology.
